The hermETICS project, led by TESELA Materials Innovation and Heritage as coordinator, has been one of the winners of the “AMULET 1st Call” of the European programme HORIZON 2020 (Advanced Materials & manufacturing United for LightwEight).

The hermETICS project directly addresses the challenge of developing a new mortar base coat for Exterior Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) with self-repairing properties. This innovative solution aims to improve the quality of buildings by reducing degradation and maintenance efforts.

Our project takes a sustainable approach, integrating various lightweight materials from secondary products (waste tyres). This approach not only reduces environmental impact, but also generates a lightweight composite with a significantly low carbon footprint.

Our technology includes a self-repair mechanism that effectively repairs the cracks generated, ensuring the long-term durability and structural integrity of buildings.

We are excited to be part of the AMULET H2020 project, which allows us to collaborate with experts, industry partners and research institutions to drive innovation in the field of materials and advanced manufacturing.
