CHARACTERISATION OF MORTARS FROM THE CARMEN OF THE RODRIGUEZ ACOSTA FOUNDATION
The Carmen de la Fundación Rodríguez Acosta was built for the painter of the same surname in 1941, and has been considered a National Historic Monument since 1982. It is currently the headquarters of the Gómez Moreno Institute, which serves as a space for archaeological protection, promotion and dissemination, as well as a library, archive and museum.
For this project, a series of mortar samples from the Carmen de la Fundación Rodríguez Acosta in Granada were analysed. Compositional, morphological and textural analyses were carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD), polarised optical microscopy (POM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
