MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISATION OF DIFFERENT AGGREGATE SAMPLES (CASTILLO DE VÉLEZ-BLANCO)
The Castle of Vélez-Blanco, located on the site of an ancient citadel in Vélez-Blanco (Almería), is one of the most remarkable examples of early Renaissance architecture in Spain.
Initiated by Pedro Fajardo y Chacón, 1st Marquis of Los Vélez, after being titled by the Catholic Monarchs. It was built in stone on the remains of the Muslim fortification, adapting defensive elements such as the keep (about 20 m high) and combining them with sumptuous palatial architecture inside.
TESELA has collaborated with the technical management for the mineralogical characterisation of different aggregate samples for the restoration of the Castle of Vélez-Blanco.
