EVALUATION OF A BIOCONSOLIDATION TREATMENT AND CHARACTERISATION OF MATERIALS IN THE WALL OF THE CERRO DE SAN CRISTÓBAL (ALMERIA)

Belonging to the Alcazaba of Almería, the Jayrán wall is located on the Cerro de San Cristóbal and forms part of this defensive complex. As part of it, it has been considered an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) since 2004.

In this project, the evaluation of a bioconsolidation treatment by means of bacterial carbonatogenesis was carried out and different materials belonging to the wall were characterised. En este estudio se utilizaron, entre otras técnicas, la difracción de rayos X (DRX), la microscopía óptica polarizada (POM) y la microscopía electrónica de barrido (SEM).
