LARACHE CASTLE, MONTEAGUDO (MURCIA): MATERIAL CHARACTERISATION
Larache Castle is a defensive construction of Islamic origin which, together with the castles of Monteagudo and Castillejo, formed a defensive line in the Huerta de Murcia. Some authors believe that it was also associated with agricultural activity in the area. It has been considered an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) since 1985.
For this project, a number of samples of soil and mortar walls were analysed. Compositional, morphological and textural analyses were carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and polarised optical microscopy (POM).
