CHARACTERISATION OF MORTARS FROM THE TORRE MOCHA OF THE CONVENT OF CASARRUBIOS DEL MONTE (TOLEDO)

For this project, a series of samples of mortars with pictorial layers from the Torre Mocha del Convento in Casarrubios del Monte were analysed. This emblematic building in Toledo belongs to the church of San Andrés and was built in the 14th century. The analyses were carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and polarised optical microscopy (POM).

The digital newspaper La Tribuna de Toledo reports the news: “The recovered symbol of Casarrubios. The Sagreño Town Council has completed the bulk of the restoration work on the Torre Mocha”.
