The church of La Encarnaci\u00f3n in Bail\u00e9n is one of the most emblematic buildings of local architecture. It is made of red asperon stone cut into ashlars and its construction began in the 15th century, following the canons of the style known as Catholic Monarchs or Isabelline, corresponding to the trends marked in other Gothic churches in the province such as San Ildefonso in Ja\u00e9n, Santiago in And\u00fajar or La Concepci\u00f3n in Lopera. It was also declared a Historic-Artistic Monument on 2 May 1983. <\/p>\n\n

In this study, TESELA has aimed at the mineralogical characterisation of samples of mortars and pictorial layers from the south doorway of the Church of the Incarnation.<\/p>\n\n
