Specific objectives and technological applications<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Heritage buildings are a fundamental aspect of cultural identity, which requires conservation efforts to ensure their accessibility, affordability and habitability. Although exterior insulation with hygroscopic materials is preferable, it may be limited by alignment or protection issues. Interior insulation can cause moisture-related problems. In addition, many heritage buildings lack a cost-effective heating and cooling system. The EU-funded Herit4ages project will demonstrate the possibility of improving the performance of heritage buildings without compromising their cultural and architectural identity. The project team recognises the diversity of heritage buildings and the different degrees of intervention permitted by the protection laws. It therefore aims to develop solutions applicable in the different regions of Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
