The project \u2018Advanced and safe materials and processes based on the circular economy concept applied to olive by-products for agri-food packaging and sustainable, high-quality construction (Reference: IDI-20250377)\u2019 held its kick-off meeting, marking the official launch of this innovative initiative.<\/p>\n\n
Funded by the CDTI Programme for Cooperative Research and Development Projects, the main objective of the project is to research and valorise by-products from the olive oil industry, such as olive pomace and olive pits, in order to develop bio-based materials with applications in food packaging and sustainable construction, promoting the circular economy and industrial sustainability.<\/p>\n\n
The consortium, led by ACESUR, includes companies and research centres with complementary expertise: TESELA, which specialises in sustainable building materials; ADVPET, an expert in biodegradable packaging; and the technology centres AINIA and AITIIP, which contribute their expertise in advanced technologies for the development and validation of new bioplastics and eco-friendly materials.<\/p>\n\n
During the initial meeting, the project’s lines of work and coordination were established, defining the technical and collaboration strategies that will guide research and the development of innovative, sustainable and competitive solutions for the agri-food and construction sectors.<\/p>\n\n
