\ud83c\udfd7\ufe0f Lime plays a fundamental role in our lives, from its use in painting, agriculture or construction. Moreover, different civilisations such as the Mayan, Egyptian and Roman civilisations already used lime as their main building material.<\/p>\n\n

Although lime has always been with us, there is still a great lack of knowledge about its use in heritage restoration. It is therefore necessary to explore different methodologies for their use.<\/p>\n\n

\ud83d\ude80 A few months ago, we started the European project LIM3PRINT, co-financed by the Single Market Programme of the European Union in the framework of CREATHRIV-EU (SMP-COSME-2021-CLUSTER-01, GA. No. 101074265). The project has been coordinated by TESELA Materials Innovation and Heritage and the CETIM Technology Centre has acted as Service Provider.<\/p>\n\n

\ud83d\udca1The LIM3PRINT project aims to solve the problem of replicating unique artefacts of built cultural heritage that need to be replaced because they are damaged or have disappeared. To this end, the main objective of the project is to use direct 3D additive manufacturing (AM) combined with the use of sustainable lime mortar materials.<\/p>\n\n
