Petrological study of the quarries related to the Alcazaba of Almería

In this project a series of stone samples from quarries and the monumental complex of the Alcazaba de Almería were analysed to try to establish the origin of the lithotypes used in the construction of the Alcazaba. The analysis techniques used were loupe-videomicroscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence and optical microscopy.
